HEROES OF THE REALM

wyrek of dacia

Wyrek of Dacia is a legendary hero of the “Great War.” He was the first man in 1,000 years to unite the 12 Tribes and 144 Families of Dacia to fight against Ostia, led by his rival, General Falco. Wyrek had two children, Lyn and Kyte, with his wife Fyna before she died in childbirth. Wyrek passed away from a mysterious illness three years after that. Some say it was of a broken heart, some speculate about foul play. Whether it was due to illness or injury, Wyreks death left a power vacuum in the congress of the tribes and families of Dacia. Since then, renegade families of Plainsfolk have been known to attack trading caravans crossing the Plains.

Master Sri

Master Sri is retired and lives a quiet life in the mountains of Indus. Master Sri comes from a prestigious order of warrior monks and many years ago rose through the ranks to become the General of the Armies of Indus. While Sri is a great warrior, he is also well versed in the mystical tradition and spends his free time contemplating the Qi. Not long after his retirement Master Sri experienced a vision in which a powerful storm engulfed the continent, killing many. The only thing that was able to dispel the storm was a pair of twin tigers who blew away the storm clouds with wind from the swipes of their mighty claws.

General Falco

General Falco is something of an enigma. On the one hand, he makes light of serious situations, on the other, he is very sharp when the stakes are high. He is Ostia’s greatest warrior and a hero of the Great War. After the Emperor of Ostia signed the armistice at the end of the Great War of the West, some of his men tried to convince Falco to rise up and take the throne for himself. Falco however, chose to remain loyal to Emperor Aurelius. Because these rumors, the Emperor is very wary of him, he was assigned generalship of the Army of the East, Ostia’s least combat heavy station, after the Great War.

King Erik

Little is known about this hero of the Great War, except for his prowess in battle. Erik is a hot-headed commander who is prone to falling for his enemies’ strategic traps. He compensates for this weakness by using brute strength. King Erik also serves the chief priest, or Druid, of his kingdom, Norselands’ warrior cult. Some say that this cult practices the gruesome ritual of human sacrifice, though these claims have not been substantiated.
