The five ages
The Golden Age
In the beginning there were only the seven Gods. Feeling alone and searching for meaning, the Gods called out to the Qi to create man. During this time, man and the Gods existed on one heavenly plane with the Qi. Both men and the Gods enjoyed eternal life in the Qi and all things were simple and good.
The Silver Age
The Gods, sensing a rift in the Qi between themselves and man, retreated to the heavens and left man to live on the earth. Man was long lived and spent their days on the earth glorifying the heavens through the Qi.
The Bronze Age
Man, all of whom were imbued with the Qi, began to suffer disagreements. They struggled against one another in titanic conflicts, using their knowledge of the Qi to bring about great destruction on the earthly plane. The Gods were angered by this and, at the end of the age, locked away Qi deep in the heart of men.
The Heroic Age
With Qi locked away and largely forgotten, the Goddess Sophia, the embodiment of the wisdom of the Qi, took pity on the ignorant men in the earthly plane. She disguised herself as a young child, named Neith, who traveled about the continents teaching humanity’s leaders how to unlock the Qi hidden within themselves. After she left, those she instructed went on to become humanity’s greatest heroes. This was the dawning of our current age, the Age of Heroes.
The Iron Age
Having angered her brethren, The Goddess Sophia was imprisoned in a long sleep for having reintroduced Qi to mankind. As the knowledge of Qi slowly dwindles to nothing, we are currently at the precipice of the Iron Age. In this future age, man will struggle and strive without knowledge of Qi until, in accordance with the divinations of the Goddess Psais, Goddess of fate and the embodiment of the will of the Qi, man will lift himself back to the heavenly realm and, after much conflict, will return to the Gods and start the cycle over again with a new Golden Age when the Goddess Sophia reawakens.
